Ron died on April 30, 2016, surrounded by family and old friends. He had been suffering from Lewy Body Dementia.
Ron was born in Kalispell, Montana. When he was 3 years old his parents moved to Richland, Washington where his father worked at the fledgling Hanford Nuclear Reservation. He attended Sacajawea Elementary School, Chief Joseph Jr High and graduated from Richland High School in 1959.
After a year of college Ron joined the Army. He spent 3 years in Albuquerque, New Mexico before going to Berlin, Germany for an additional 3 years. His time in Europe was a highlight of his life and was the beginning of a life-long love of travel.
After discharge from the Army, Ron moved to Portland, Oregon. He worked for several years as a Respiratory Therapist. His true vocation was Real Estate, at which he worked until he retired when he was 70. He also had a number of rentals. Crawford’s Christmas Trees was a business Ron and his sons nurtured over 25 years.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lynn and 4 sons. He unabashedly adored his 5 grandchildren. Ron will always be remembered for his kindness and generosity.
