Community Living Connections: Caregiver Class: Communication in Caregiving (C1)

Clear communication can ease stress and strengthen caregiving relationships.

This 3-week class helps caregivers build practical communication skills for some of the most challenging parts of care. We’ll explore how to communicate with family and friends when opinions differ, how to stay connected with the person you care for as needs or emotions change, and how to speak up confidently with healthcare providers. Each session offers real-world tools and examples to help you feel more prepared, heard, and supported in everyday caregiving conversations.

Cameras and microphones are kept off. You’re welcome to participate in the chat or simply listen and take what you need.

I’m Ankita Wheeler, your Trualta Care Educator! I’m a licensed speech-language pathologist with specialized training in dementia care, communication, and culturally responsive support. I’ve spent my career helping families navigate complex care journeys with empathy and clarity. My goal is to create a welcoming, inclusive space where caregivers from all walks of life feel understood, supported, and empowered. I’m so glad you’re here, and I look forward to learning and growing together at our upcoming events!
